Tax day can be daunting – especially for small business owners and self-employed individuals. This Tax Day, we’re grateful to our community who partnered with TurboTax & QuickBooks to share their tips for tackling taxes as full-time bloggers, content creators and digital influencers! Being business-savvy ain’t always easy, but this advice can help you start planning today for a seamless tax season next year, and for years to come.

1. DIY (With a Little Help)
Filing your own taxes may sound impossible, but it’s totally doable. Check out self-confessed control freak Hailey Andreson’s journey with TurboTax - from trying the free service for the first time as a teen, to relying on the whole suite of tools today.

2. Start Early
The Kentucky Gent makes being your own self-made boss look easy! His advice ? ‘Knock your taxes out before you have a chance to put them off.’ Elana, self-employed owner of ElanaLyn.com also agrees that getting on top of it at the beginning will help avoid last-minute stresses. You won’t see her panicking at the eleventh hour!

3. Stay Organized
This one’s major key for self-employed influencers: track your income and anticipated payout dates from each brand and third-party network you work with. Amanda, from Advice From a Twenty-Something, has two years of full-time blogging under her belt and learned that being prepared for tax season means tracking all activities with an eagle eye. Lifestyle influencer and photographer Dawn Darnell suggests separating business vs. personal accounts and saving important documents. And in case keeping track of receipts sounds tricky, she’s got QuickBooks suggestions for that!
