At Collectively, we love code! So we were thrilled to team up with Mozilla to spread the word about their open source Instagram account, @MozillaGram , and their #TheArtOfCoding campaign!

For this marketing campaign, Collectively influencers shared their favorite lines of code (the backbone of blogs everywhere!) in support of Mozilla's manifesto for digital literacy and open source education for all. Influencers touched on their personal experiences learning and using code, crediting their skill as a valuable tool for expanding their digital expression. Lines of code were artistically styled in each collaborator's unique aesthetic, resulting in a true collaboration of art and digital code. Check out some of the awesome images below!

I often hear those three little words. You know the ones! "I'm not creative." And it surprises me every time. Creativity is more than knitting a jumper or painting a picture. It's writing a story, taking a picture or even coding a website! Yes really! Luckily my job lets me do all of those things. I love that I have the ability to create my own websites and showcase to the world what I have to offer. It's been a changing point in my life and because of it I feel like I have a voice in this noisy world. That's why I'm so happy to partner with @mozillagram who have made it their mission to teach digital literacy around the world and give a voice to so many more who need it with #theartofcoding. Finding your unique style is really hard. Eventually it comes from enough hours behind what you are doing, but it's a huge process getting there. And then once you get there.. It should be consistent across your whole brand. I am so grateful for the small amount of coding knowledge I've learned that I am able to transfer my personal style into my website and other areas of rad&happy. I feel like it gives me freedom instead of being tied down to someone else's "template". So I obviously love that @mozillagram is giving everyone the opportunity to be digitally literate aka giving everyone the chance to show off their style they have worked so hard to achieve. One of my favorite sayings, and something I've certainly repeated over and over to myself as I've navigated this whole blogging thing, is "everything is figure-out-able". I'm so pumped to be teaming up with @mozillagram to help spread digital literacy across the globe in their #TheArtofCoding campaign.  I had NO clue what I was doing when I first starting blogging and I'm certainly not a coder now, but through lots of researching and practice, I was able to figure out some basic coding to get done what I needed to get done. As frustrating as it can be, everything is figure-out-able! When I started blogging eight years ago, I had absolutely no clue how to build a site or really anything about code. I’m not an expert by any means, but having an online space that pushes me to learn new skills (especially skills that are such a huge part of our future) makes me so grateful and excited.  @Mozillagram has gone on a mission to give everyone the opportunity to be digitally literate, and as a mom who is currently teaching her 6 and 3 year old about coding, I’m so, so on board with this. This is a skill everyone should have the opportunity to learn, because it’s the future. I had fun taking a little piece of my blog code (some of it slightly tweaked to make jokes 😁) to make this personalized vinyl clutch purse.
